All Strix servers are hosted via Internet Information Services (IIS) on Microsoft Windows. The Strix databases need to be hosted on Microsoft SQL Server. The databases of the SM and the DCM can be hosted on the same SQL Server instance.
FTS recommends using virtual machines (VMs) so that the power of these machines can be increased/decreased dynamically.
As the SM and the DCM are single page applications (SPAs), the requirements for processor and memory for the frontend servers are very low. If the frontend server and the backend server of a module are installed on the same VM, only the hardware specification of the backend server needs to be considered.
