FTS Financial Transparency Solutions GmbH (FTS) is a young but established SupTech (Supervisory Technology) industry software developer designing and building Anti-Money Laundering software tools for Supervisory Authorities.  FTS has a vision of designing and building state-of-the-art software in the area of financial crime prevention benefiting from advanced intelligence programming, and which already includes elements of machine learning.  A baseline product suite, Strix AML, is a commercially available productivity software but must be adapted to each client’s specific operating environment.

MID-LEVEL TO SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER

Open position

FTS is looking for a seasoned and productive network engineer that considers oneself to be both highly competent and efficient, and who expects to be compensated accordingly.  An ideal candidate would be organized with diligent and systemic record keeping and be capable, after a course of onboarding and product familiarization, of independently deploying and maintaining enterprise software for government authorities on Microsoft Tech stack environments.

The candidate would lead supervised and un-supervised deliveries (remotely), give system maintenance training to clients, and oversee the infrastructure and maintenance of the hosting-as-a-service business line.  The candidate should be knowledgeable of VM’s, multi-tier architecture, high availability, cloud and on-premise architectures, backup technology, familiar with a variety of WAF’s and SIEM systems, ISO 27001, security and penetration testing, secure remote access technology, vulnerability detection and resolution, encryption, best industry practices in security, and demonstrated awareness of emerging cybersecurity threats.

This person should be comfortable working in a small, agile, and experienced team, able to work with external contributors and be comfortable with some aspects of cross-discipline activities (e.g. giving training, generating product documentation).

As FTS was created and grew during the COVID times, we operate a fully virtual office.  The individual must be capable of having a home office and be able to work professionally from home.  The candidate MUST RESIDE IN AUSTRIA for employee registration purposes, tax payments, etc.  Please do not apply if intending to remain outside Austria.

JUNIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

FTS is seeking a highly motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our team. This entry-level position is designed for an individual with foundational programming skills and a strong interest in networking, production maintenance, and security. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision and mentorship of our Product Lead, gaining hands-on experience in software development, system reliability, and performance optimization.

Quality / Test Engineer

FTS is looking for a mid-level quality / test engineer with 5-10 years of experience. Applicant should be able to review software code produced by FTS or subcontracted developers, identify and perform acceptance testing, monitor and inspect for obsolescence and outdated content, participate in requirements formation, play a significant role in acquiring and maintaining an ISO 27001 certification, and assist in verification testing of FTS’s enterprise software on clients systems (staging environment upgrades and initial deployments).

Following an onboarding period, daily tasks will include code review, preparing for testing of new releases, performing testing of individual modules and integration testing between different modules, supporting deployment of updates or first installations both at clients and in-house, including quality assurance verification testing.  Applicant should also contribute with refining user stories, detecting technical dependencies between features and supporting FTS in other ways which this individual suggests she/he can be useful to FTS or towards improving our product.

Must have ambition to expand on these as areas as required.  Among other development efforts, FTS is seeking to convert its enterprise productivity software product to a SaaS which will involve a focus on security, anonymization of clients confidential information, addition of auditing / monitoring application features, and more.

Daily tasks will include development tasks, supporting rollouts at clients and inhouse, and help with quality control.  Applicant should help with refining user stories, detecting technical dependencies between features and supporting us improving our product.

Product Support Engineer

FTS is looking for a skilled person to perform a broad range of software product development and maintenance activities. An initial project would be to incorporate the currently PDF based manual into an in-app manual and to progressively roll out updates as new functionality is added. This individual would participate in routine sprint planning, UAT testing, and quality assurance activities in an on-going basis. This person may, possessing full-stack skillsets, also assist in supportive development roles to FTS lead developers.

This position is ideally suited for individuals motivated to move into product owner or requirements engineering roles, or for software engineers wanting to stay close to development, and be associated with a high-quality software product.

Garrett Dunker

Director

Garrett Dunker, founder and Managing Director of Financial Transparency Solutions, manages the company’s operations and oversees product development.

He leads a team of Software Engineers, Industry Experts and Advisors to design Suptech solutions for Supervisors that directly address the needs of the market.

Garrett studied Economics and Engineering at Arizona State University, holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and has 10+ years’ experience in the aerospace industry.

Garrett’s engineering background includes a heavy focus on testing, data collection and management and in creating algorithms to automate data reduction and predict results.

Since 2016, he has been instrumental in developing Inherent Risk and Controls assessment models for global clients.

Drawing on his experience with Excel-based risk models and other risk model software, he has designed an efficient, powerful and adaptable mathematical backbone for the Strix™ AML scoring algorithm.

AML/CFT Risk Consultant

Emanuele is an AML/CFT Risk Consultant at FTS providing Technical Assistance and Onboarding Services to Strix™ AML users.

He is an experienced professional in the field of regulatory compliance having had a long-term career with the United Arab Emirates financial markets regulator.

Emanuele graduated from the ESCP-EAP in Paris and holds a Laurea in Economia Aziendale from the University of Turin (Italy). He is a CFA charterholder, has FRM certification from the Global Association of Risk Professionals and he is an ACAMS certified AML specialist.

Harry is a AML/CFT Advisor at FTS assisting with the implementation of an Anti-Money-Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) Risk Assessment tool ‘Strix™ AML’ for Supervisory Authorities.

Harry recently graduated from the King’s College London, UK in LLM International Financial and Commercial Law. In addition, he holds a MSc Finance (Financial Sector Management) with the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, UK.  Moreover, he has completed several AML/CFT Training Programs, namely:

  • International Monetary Fund (IMF): AML CFT Risk-based Supervision of Financial Institutions (AMLCFTx).
  • Recipient of the Scholarship in Anti-Money Laundering from the Florence School of Banking & Finance, European University Institute, Italy and completed the Anti-Money Laundering Regulation, Supervision and Practice Course.

Harry has over 20 years regulatory and supervisory experience with the Financial Services Commission Mauritius.  He has worked with the anti-money laundering & combating financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) team and the enforcement directorate and has been involved in the World Bank National Risk Assessment (NRA) Exercise at FSC level.
