Strix is now AMLA ready

FTS keeps you up to date on AMLA’s dynamics.

Strix-AMLA is out!

Strix, the most mature commercial-off-the-shelf AML/CFT risk assessment solution, now supports AMLA methodology risk assessments, in accordance with RTS under art. 12(7) AMLAR, as well as supporting imports from and exports to the AMLA Template – AMLA 2026 Testing and Calibration Exercise_Version 2.

Strix is an independent solution by FTS.  AMLA does not officially recognize commercial solutions of any kind and has not reviewed or endorsed STRIX.

Since Strix is COTS, this means European Supervisors can onboard and go-live within 1-3 months* with AMLA methodology and surveys.

All Strix features and capabilities PLUS:

  • Import data from AMLA Templates into Strix
  • Perform risk assessments using AMLA methodology
  • Export to AMLA Templates from Strix for sharing with AMLA

As usual, Strix is compatible with all FIs and all DNFBP sectors.

*As COTS, onboarding times represented are possible when FTS onboarding deployment processes, quality assurance procedures, and security recommendations are accepted by the onboarding authority.  Should an onboarding authority treat Strix as a bespoke solution and apply own procedures, QA checks, and security policy, onboarding times would be under the control of the onboarding authority and not FTS.

FTS acknowledges that the AMLA methodology will likely be an evolutionary process, and that changes are likely and that there may be more templates in the future. FTS commits to updating Strix-AMLA to remain aligned and as compatible as possible.

The AMLA capability is in addition to the existing capability of Strix, retaining the many time saving benefits and powerful features of Strix.  Further, it is possible to simultaneously remain compatible with existing AML/CFT practices of the authority in order to minimize change and the need to retrain existing systems to maximum extent.  This ‘parallel’ assessment capability now possible in Strix is made possible using data-passing technology between models.

Strix will work with both existing data points and KPIs as historically used by authorities while adding the new AMLA-specified data points.  Data points can simultaneously have both existing data codes and the new AMLA codes.

Everything that could be needed for AMLA, out of the box:

  • Supports multi-language surveys and user interfaces
  • A wide variety of embedded and custom data validation
  • Recently refactored to support up to 75k entities
  • Export / import models and surveys (AMLA or others)
  • Supports multi-assessment methodologies in same platform
  • AKA codes to maximize compatibility and alignment with exiting model codes AND AMLA codes
  • Export assessment datasets for controlled distribution to AMLA
  • Import assessment datasets
  • Import data from AMLA Templates
  • Export data to AMLA Templates

With the AMLA appsettings, Strix has all of the specificities of the AMLA methodology:

  • Heatmap where Residual Risk score is limited to Inherent Risk Score
  • Residual Risk is the average of Inherent Risk and Controls
  • Three decimal places
  • Range from 1 to 4, with 4 being Worst
  • 4×4 heatmap with AMLA classification names and score thresholds
  • Limitations of overrides to the edge of the next classification

Strix – forward looking, maximum compatibility, know your sector.
